Course Details

Designed to provide in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in advanced laser and light-based treatments for clinical and aesthetic applications.

Pre-Requisites

Pre-requisites to this qualification is open to individuals who:

– have achieved a Diploma of Beauty Therapy; AND
– have 12 months post-qualification experience as a beauty therapist with a primary focus on providing facial services, skin services and hair reduction services;

OR

– are an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse; AND
– have 12 months post-qualification experience in the application of knowledge in human biology, anatomy and physiology.

Entry Requirements

• Age: Minimum Age 18 Years old
• Education and Experience: Year 10 or equivalent
• Students are encouraged to apply online or visit college for a Course Entry Interview: Participate in a course entry interview to help determine whether the course is the right fit for you, and to identify your individual needs and goals before the course begins.
• Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) quiz link will be emailed to the student, which you must complete before enrolment can be finalised.

Course Duration

• Complete within 20 weeks/6 months maximum.
• Fast Track for experienced candidates. (e.g. Intensive 10 sessions) Please consult with us for details. 
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and credit transfer: If you have extensive industry experience, you may be eligible for RPL, which could reduce your overall course duration. Please inquire about RPL course with our admin. 

Flexible Learning

Blended delivery: Monday to Friday 10am – 6pm, 3 days/week (on campus and online) 

Days are flexible, arranged at interview appointment.

Students take a week-long break between terms and a 4-5 week break at Christmas.

*Each term has a duration of 10 weeks*

Please note: BeautyPlus Academy does not currently offer VET Student Loans (VSL). All students, regardless of residency status, are subject to the full tuition fee. Flexible instalment payment plans are available — please contact us for details.

Flexible learning allows participants to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule, providing students with the autonomy to manage their time and learning style in a way that suits their individual needs and goals. 

Assessment Methods

Participants will be assessed through a combination of methods including online knowledge assessments via our Learning Management System (LMS), practical skills demonstrations conducted face-to-face in our campus, projects, case studies, presentations, role play demonstration, progressive tasks and where applicable, supervised workplace assessment. Specific assessment requirements vary by unit and will be outlined in your training plan.

Nationally Recognised Qualification 

On successful completion of the course, participants will receive nationally recognised training certificate of  SHB60125 Advanced Diploma of Intense Pulsed Light and Laser for Hair Reduction

Outcome

Upon successful completion of the SHB60125 – Advanced Diploma of Intense Pulsed Light and Laser for Hair Reduction, graduates will achieve the following:

• Nationally Recognised Qualification: Receive a formal Advanced Laser Diploma Certificate, verifying your competency under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

• Professional Accreditation: Meet the high-level educational requirements for laser safety and technical proficiency, enabling you to apply for relevant state licensing (where applicable, such as in QLD or WA).

• Advanced Clinical Expertise: Master the physics of IPL and Laser technologies, skin anatomy, and advanced treatment protocols to deliver safe, effective hair reduction results.

• Career Pathways: Unlock senior roles in the aesthetic industry, including:

◦ Senior Laser Technician

◦ Clinical Skin/Laser Specialist

◦ Laser/Dermal Therapist

◦ Aesthetic Clinic Manager or Business Owner

Will you be completing other courses too? You may be eligible for a College Scholarship when you apply for any of the other courses. (exclusive online) Please consult with our admin team for further details. 

Product Requirements

• All professional clinical products needed during on-site training will be provided by college.
• Comprehensive learner guides and digital resources will be provided by college.
• Exclusive access to our wholesale partner network and student discount cards.
• Students will be required to wear a black scrub to complete your diploma. If need the college scrub uniform will cost $150/set. 

After course Completion

Please note: your course is marked as complete once your advanced diploma certificate has been issued by BeautyPlus Academy. At that point, your account access is paused after 14 days so we recommend downloading any additional resources beforehand. This ensures you have everything you need for future reference.

• Total Tuition Fee: $13000 (Initial payment of $1500 with 7 fortnightly instalments of $1500 and final payment of $1000. Inclusive Enrolment & Administration Fee: A non-refundable Administration fee of $500 is required upon registration.)

•This course may be tax deductible as a work-related expense for you, just ask your accountant.
