PART I: MODEL CONSENT AND TREATMENT AGREEMENT
This Model Consent and Treatment Agreement (“Agreement”) sets out the terms under which BeautyPlus Academy (“the Academy”) and/or its associated clinic provides beauty therapy and laser treatment services to clients and/or model participants (“the Client”). By proceeding with any treatment or agreeing to participate as a model, the Client confirms they have read, understood, and accepted all terms set out below.
25.1 “Treatment” refers to any beauty therapy, laser, intense pulsed light (IPL), high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), skin needling, or related aesthetic procedure performed at or by the Academy or its associated clinic.
25.2 “Model” refers to a person who voluntarily consents to receive a treatment administered by a student or trainee under the supervision of a qualified trainer/assessor for the purposes of training and assessment.
25.3 “Practitioner” refers to the student, trainee, or qualified therapist performing the treatment.
26.1 The Client confirms that they have been provided with sufficient information regarding the proposed treatment, including its nature, purpose, expected outcomes, and potential risks and side effects.
26.2 The Client consents to the treatment being performed and understands that results may vary between individuals and are not guaranteed.
26.3 Where the Client is participating as a Model for training purposes, the Client acknowledges that the treatment will be performed by a trainee under qualified supervision and consents to this arrangement.
26.4 The Client understands they may withdraw consent at any time prior to or during a treatment. Withdrawal of consent during a treatment session does not entitle the Client to a refund of any fees paid.
27.1 The Client declares that all health, medical, and personal information provided to the Academy is accurate, complete, and up to date at the time of treatment.
27.2 The Client agrees to disclose any medical conditions, medications, allergies, skin sensitivities, or contraindications that may affect the suitability or safety of the proposed treatment.
27.3 The Client acknowledges that failure to disclose relevant health information may result in adverse outcomes for which the Academy accepts no liability.
27.4 The Academy reserves the right to refuse or discontinue treatment where, in the professional judgment of the Practitioner or supervising trainer, it is not safe or appropriate to proceed.
28.1 The Client acknowledges that aesthetic and laser treatments carry inherent risks, which may include but are not limited to: temporary redness, swelling, bruising, skin sensitivity, pigmentation changes, or in rare cases, scarring or burns.
28.2 The Client confirms they have been informed of the specific risks associated with the treatment to be performed and accepts those risks.
28.3 The Client agrees to follow all pre- and post-treatment care instructions provided by the Academy. The Academy accepts no liability for adverse outcomes resulting from the Client’s failure to follow recommended aftercare.
29.1 Where the Client is participating as a Model, the Academy may take before and after photographs or video recordings for the purposes of student assessment, competency evidence, and quality assurance.
29.2 Such records will be stored securely and used solely for the training and assessment purposes described, unless separate written consent is obtained from the Client for any other use.
29.3 The Client may withdraw consent for photography or video recording at any time by notifying the Academy in writing. Withdrawal of photography consent does not affect consent to the treatment itself.
29.4 The Academy will manage all personal and health information collected in connection with the treatment in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and clause 5 of these Terms.
30.1 Models are volunteers who agree to receive treatments administered by students under qualified supervision, at no charge or at a reduced rate, in exchange for their participation in the Academy’s training program.
30.2 The Model acknowledges that the treatment will be delivered by a student who is in the process of completing their qualification and that, while supervised, the Practitioner is not yet fully qualified.
30.3 The Model agrees to provide honest and constructive feedback during and after the treatment to support the student’s learning.
30.4 The Model confirms they are at least 18 years of age and are not participating under duress.
31.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Academy’s liability in connection with any treatment is limited to the resupply of the service or a refund of the amount paid for the treatment, at the Academy’s election.
31.2 The Academy is not liable for any loss, injury, reaction, or adverse outcome arising from the Client’s failure to disclose complete and accurate health information, or failure to follow pre- or post-treatment care instructions.
31.3 Nothing in this Part excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy the Client may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
32.1 Clients are required to provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a treatment appointment.
32.2 Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or failure to attend a scheduled appointment without prior notice, may result in forfeiture of any deposit paid or a cancellation fee being applied.
32.3 For Model participants, repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in removal from the Academy’s model register.
By proceeding with the treatment, booking, or signing the separate Consent and Treatment Agreement Form, the Client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms set out in this Part I of the BeautyPlus Academy Terms and Conditions.

Late Arrivals
Arriving late to a course affects the learning outcomes of all students. BeautyPlus Academy reserves the right to refuse entry to any student who arrives late to a course. No refund will be provided in such circumstances.
Supply of Course Prerequisites
Some courses have prerequisites that must be supplied prior to commencement. These will be communicated on the BeautyPlus Academy website, in the booking confirmation, and verbally if the booking is made by phone.
Where a prerequisite has not been received by 5:00pm AEST (Sydney time) on the business day prior to the course, the enrolment will be cancelled and entry will be refused. In such cases, the course fee will not be refunded or held in credit.
Unique Student Identifier (USI)
From 1 January 2015, all students undertaking nationally recognised training delivered by a Registered Training Organisation are required to hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI). BeautyPlus Academy cannot issue a nationally recognised Certificate or Statement of Attainment without a verified USI on file.
Students must provide their USI at the time of enrolment. If a student does not yet have a USI, one can be created at usi.gov.au (the process takes approximately three minutes). For assistance, students may contact BeautyPlus Academy on 02 9585 2811 or email info@beautyplus.nsw.edu.au.
E-Learning Specific Terms
Student Visa Holders
BeautyPlus Academy is not registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). As such, individuals who hold a student visa are not eligible to enrol in, participate in, or attend any BeautyPlus Academy course — whether delivered face-to-face or online. Student visa holders should seek a CRICOS-registered institution for their training needs.
Enrolment Term and Maximum Duration
For courses delivered wholly online, the enrolment term commences at the time of purchase, at which point the student will be provided with their login credentials via email. For courses delivered in part online, the enrolment term commences on the first day of the face-to-face training component.
Unless otherwise advised at the time of enrolment, the standard enrolment term is 12 months for Diplomas only. Other courses enrolment term is 3 months. If a student has not completed their training within the standard enrolment term, the enrolment will be cancelled and the student’s account will be disabled.
Students who wish to continue their studies after the standard enrolment period expires may apply for a 12-month extension at 50% of the original course cost. Enrolment periods cannot exceed 24 months in total, and fees will not be reduced if an extension is requested after the initial 12-month period has expired.
Login credentials must not be shared with or distributed to any third party under any circumstances. Any breach of this requirement will result in the immediate suspension of the student’s account.
Participant Support
During the enrolment term, student support is available during BeautyPlus Academy’s business hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm AEST (Sydney time). Support services are specific to the course enrolled in and are detailed in the relevant course guide. To contact the Online Faculty Team, students may call 02 9585 2811 during business hours.
Assessment Marking Timeframes
Upon successful enrolment, students will be notified of their assigned trainer and/or assessor. BeautyPlus Academy will endeavour to mark and return submitted assessment items within 3 business days of receipt. Larger or more complex assessments may take longer. If a student has not received a response to their submission within 10 business days, they should contact BeautyPlus Academy to follow up.
Post-Completion Account Access
Upon issuance of a Certificate or Statement of Attainment, the student’s learning account will remain active for a period of 14 calendar days. During this time, students are encouraged to download or save any course materials, resources, or records they wish to retain. After this 14-day period, account access will be suspended. BeautyPlus Academy accepts no liability for any loss of access to materials, records, or content after the access period has expired. Students who require extended access to course materials after certification must contact BeautyPlus Academy in writing prior to the expiry of the 14-day period. Extensions are granted at the discretion of the CEO and may incur an administration fee.
Blended Courses — Online and Face-to-Face
For courses that combine online and face-to-face components, students must achieve a Competent result in all online assessment items prior to attending their face-to-face training day(s). Students who have not reached a Competent result will not be permitted to participate in the face-to-face component. In such cases, the course fee is forfeited and a rebooking fee will apply.
Virtual Classroom Courses
Students enrolled in virtual classroom courses bear full responsibility for ensuring they have the necessary technology, internet connection, and technical capability to participate. Minimum system requirements are provided at the time of booking, along with guidance for testing your system in advance. Students agree to perform this testing prior to their session.
The following applies in the event of technical difficulties:
The determination of which party is responsible for a technical failure will be made by BeautyPlus Academy’s IT team based on a review of system logs.
Cancellation and date change fees for virtual classroom courses are the same as those that apply to face-to-face courses, as set out in this policy.
Minimum System Requirements
Students are responsible for their own computer or device and internet connection. Minimum system requirements are specified for each course at the time of booking. BeautyPlus Academy is not responsible for any problems caused to or by a student’s equipment, including viruses or technical failures.
Students are responsible for all connection, access, and data costs, as well as for installing, maintaining, and operating their own equipment.
