Course Details

Designed to provide in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in advanced laser and light-based treatments for clinical and aesthetic applications.

Pre-Requisites

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who:

– have achieved a Diploma of Beauty Therapy; AND
– have 12 months post-qualification experience as a beauty therapist with a primary focus on providing facial services, skin services and hair reduction services;

OR

– are an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse; AND
– have 12 months post-qualification experience in the application of knowledge in human biology, anatomy and physiology.

Entry Requirements

• Age: Minimum Age 18 Years old
• Education and Experience: Year 12 or equivalent
• Students are encouraged to apply online or visit college for a Course Entry Interview: Participate in a course entry interview to help determine whether the course is the right fit for you, and to identify your individual needs and goals before the course begins.
• Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) quiz link will be emailed to the student, which you must complete before enrolment can be finalised.

Course Duration

• Max 24 Weeks/6 months
• Fast Track for experienced candidates. (e.g. Intensive 10 sessions) Please consult with us for details. 
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and credit transfer: If you have extensive industry experience, you may be eligible for RPL, which could reduce your overall course duration. Please inquire about RPL course with our admin. 

Flexible Class Dates

Blended delivery: Monday to Friday 10am – 6pm
3 days/week (on campus and online) 
Days are flexible, arranged at interview appointment.

Students take a week-long break between terms and a 4-5 week break at Christmas.

*Each term has a duration of 10 weeks*

Please note: We do not accept international students. If you are a permanent resident, you are not eligible for VET Student Loans and are subject to the full tuition fee.

Flexible Learning

Flexible learning allows students to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule, providing students with the autonomy to manage their time and learning style in a way that suits their individual needs and goals. Additionally, attendance at campus is available one day or three days per week to accommodate students varying schedules.

Outcome

Upon successful completion of the SHB60125 – Advanced Diploma of Intense Pulsed Light and Laser for Hair Reduction, graduates will achieve the following:

• Nationally Recognised Qualification: Receive a formal Statement of Attainment or Diploma, verifying your competency under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

• Professional Accreditation: Meet the high-level educational requirements for laser safety and technical proficiency, enabling you to apply for relevant state licensing (where applicable, such as in QLD or WA).

• Advanced Clinical Expertise: Master the physics of IPL and Laser technologies, skin anatomy, and advanced treatment protocols to deliver safe, effective hair reduction results.

• Career Pathways: Unlock senior roles in the aesthetic industry, including:

◦ Senior Laser Technician

◦ Clinical Skin Specialist

◦ Dermal Therapist

◦ Aesthetic Clinic Manager or Business Owner

Will you be completing other courses too? You may be eligible for a College Scholarship when you apply for any of the other courses. (exclusive online) Please consult with our admin team for further details. 

Product Requirements

• All professional clinical products need during on-site training will be provided by college.
• Comprehensive learner guides and digital resources will be provided by college.
• Exclusive access to our wholesale partner network and student discount cards.
• Students will be required to wear a black scrub to complete your diploma. If need the college scrub uniform will cost $150/set. 

After course Completion

Please note: your course is marked as complete once been issued your diploma certificate by BeautyPlus Academy. At that point, your account access is paused after 14 days so we recommend downloading any additional resources beforehand. This ensures you have everything you need for future reference.

• Total Tuition Fee: $12000 (Inclusive Enrolment & Administration Fee: A non-refundable Administration fee of $500 is required upon registration.)

• Flexible Payment Plans: We offer tailored fortnightly payment options to suit your budget. Please inquire about our interest-free instalment plans. We will not charge more than $1,500 total in fortnightly instalment plan for Diplomas.

• This course may be tax deductible as a work-related expense for you, just ask your accountant.
